Operation process for members: A guide to renting out your DVC point
Your unused points can be converted into cash in three different ways.
Rent out your unused reservation
If you have a reservation that you are unable to use and there is still time to cancel without penalties, you have the option to rent it out to another family. Follow these steps to do so:
1. Visit your profile page and select “Create a New Listing.”
2. Choose “Existing Reservation” as the listing type.
3. Your offer will be displayed on our Listings page for potential renters to make an offer.
Response to renters offer Wait for an offer
We will notify you via email when you receive an offer. You will have a limited amount of time to respond with one of three options:
1. Accept the offer.
2. Counter the offer with a different price.
3. Decline the offer, which will end the process.
View and sign your agreement
If you accept the conditions, you will receive instructions on how to view and electronically sign your contract. Please note that DVC Rental Club will handle the renter’s payment.
Funds disbursement
On the check-in day, we will release the funds to the member.
Fulfilling Customer requests
Another option we provide is to fulfill a customer request. On our Listings page, you can find requests from families seeking travel arrangements. Ensure you have the proper Home Resort ownership if the reservation is more than seven months away. Once you find a suitable request, you can accept it and proceed to plan the trip for the interested family.
Reply to the renter
Please respond to the renter before the specified deadline (1 hour) to inform them if you were able to fulfill their request or what alternative bookings you can offer. Additionally, provide the price per point that you are willing to accept.
If you are unable to make a reservation or offer a suitable option, you can inform the renter or allow the timer to run out on the claim.
View and sign your agreement
If you agree to the terms, you will receive instructions on how to view and electronically sign your agreement. Please note that the renter will submit their payment to the DVC Rental Club.
Funds Disbursement
On the check-in day, we will release the funds to the member.
Transfer points
To transfer your current use year point to another member follow this convenient point:
1. Access your profile page and click on “Create a listing.”
2. Choose the option to transfer points and indicate the number of points you wish to transfer out.
3. Fill in the necessary details to populate your listing.
4. Interested members can then submit their offers.
5. You will receive an email notification when you receive an offer.
Once you receive an offer, you have the following option:
1. Accept the offer.
2. Counter the offer with a different price.
3. Decline the offer to end the process.
If you reach an agreement on the terms, you will be provided with instructions to view and electronically sign the agreement. It’s important to note that the receiving member will submit their payment to the DVC Rental Club. After confirming that the funds have been received, the points will be transferred accordingly. On the day of check-in, we will proceed to release the funds to the member.
